1. Introduction

AddressScan ("the App") is developed and operated by SIITECH. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our app.

2. Information We Collect

• Camera & Images: The App accesses your device camera and photo gallery solely to capture images of business signboards for OCR text extraction. Images are stored locally on your device only and are never uploaded to any server.
• Location (GPS): The App collects your device GPS coordinates at the time you save a lead, to help you track the geographic location of captured business leads. Location data is stored only locally on your device.
• Lead Data: Business contact information extracted from scanned images (company name, phone, email, address, pincode) is stored locally on your device using encrypted shared preferences. This data is never transmitted to our servers.
• Device Information: For in-app feedback and bug reporting, the App collects basic device model, OS version, and app version information. This is sent only when you explicitly submit a feedback report.

3. How We Use Information

• OCR and text extraction from images — processed locally on your device, not on our servers.
• Lead management and outreach — all data stays on your device.
• CSV export — exported by you, at your discretion.
• Bug/feedback reports — sent only when you explicitly tap "Submit Feedback".

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or lead data with any third party. The App does not have a backend server. All data remains on your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party libraries for local processing only:

• Google ML Kit Text Recognition – on-device OCR (no data sent to Google)
• Tesseract OCR – on-device Tamil+English OCR
• Geolocator – device GPS access
• url_launcher / android_intent_plus – to open WhatsApp, SMS, Email apps

6. Permissions Requested

• CAMERA – to scan signboards
• READ_MEDIA_IMAGES – to pick images from gallery
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION – to tag GPS coordinates to leads
• INTERNET – for reverse geocoding (city name lookup)
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE – for CSV export on older Android devices

7. Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete any lead at any time from within the App. Uninstalling the App removes all stored data.

8. Children's Privacy

AddressScan is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted at https://siitec.in/privacy-policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
